February 2026 at the Shootout: Gone Again Returns, Vendor Spots Open, Committees Get to Work,

by Christy Wagner, Editor

After a 10-year break, Team Gone Again is officially back, and they’re not easing into their return, either.

Kenny Mungle, owner and driver of the legendary 1991 32’ Skater, is kicking off his race team’s “Unfinished Business” Tour at this year’s Lake of the Ozarks Shootout #38. The boat is powered by twin Sterling Engines PSI blower motors, and they’re back in the shop putting in the work. The goal is simple: finish what they started.

The last time Gone Again ran the LOTO course in 2016, they laid down an incredible 188 mph pass and backed it up three times. That number has hung around ever since. Almost a decade later, the drive is still there, and they’re pushing hard to meet it and would love nothing more than to top it when they roll back onto the course in 2026.

This isn’t just another lap down the chute. It’s unfinished business.

Kenny and the crew are fired up to see the fans, the competitors, and the entire Shootout family again. Expect noise. Expect boost. Expect orange. Most of all, expect Gone Again to show up ready.

See you at the Lake in August, A-Team. Let’s go racing.

VENDOR REGISTRATION

Along with this powerhouse group of volunteers working year-round behind the scenes to put on the Lake’s biggest show, vendor registration for the 38th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is officially open.

We’re capping vendor space at 30 spots this year on a first-come, first-served basis. Once they’re gone, they’re gone, and registration will close. Please note that this limit is subject to change based on overall space and future availability. The Shootout does not wish to exclude any interested or returning vendors, and its behind-the-scenes board and staff will do everything in their power to accommodate as many as possible.

For 2026, vendors will once again be set up on both the upper and lower levels of Dog Days Bar and Grill as we head into our second year at this location. All spaces will be on pavement and include access to electricity.

If you’re ready to lock in your spot, please visit: www.lakeoftheozarksshootout.com/vendors

2026 SHOOTOUT COMMITTEES

New year, new Shootout, right? Well, not exactly. But we do have some exciting things in the works for 2026’s Shootout #38.

Let’s start with the backbone of the Shootout’s many events throughout the year by introducing this year’s Volunteer Planning Committees:

  1. Course and Safety Patrol

  2. Equipment

  3. Golf Tournament

  4. Live Auction

  5. Merchandise

  6. Mini Shootout

  7. Parking

  8. Silent Auction

  9. Transportation Safety

  10. Treasure Hunts/Float-Your-Boat

  11. VIP Oversight

2026 is already shaping up to be another big year for the Shootout. With our volunteer committees hard at work and vendor registration officially underway, the momentum is building. We’re grateful for the people and partners who make this event what it is, and we’re looking forward to putting on another unforgettable weekend at the Lake.

2026 Dam Putt Putt Tournament Recap

To close out February and officially kick off our 2026 lineup of events benefiting the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout charities, we had a great time at this year’s Dam Putt Putt Tournament.

With 300 golfers joining us for the day, the energy was high, and the competition was fun — all while raising $18,920 to support our local charities and first responders.

A big thank you to our 16 Hole Sponsors and 2 Presenting Sponsors for helping make the event possible. Events like this truly show what the lake community can do when we come together.

Congratulations to the winners:

• Larry V. | 1st Place

• Brant M. | 2nd Place

• Todd P. | 3rd Place

• Neon Hair Girls | Best Dressed

Thank you to everyone who came out, played, sponsored, and volunteered. We’re just getting started, and we can’t wait for what’s ahead this year.
