PWC REQUIREMENTS
Race Time: Sunday 8am
Course: 1/2 Mile
Racers: Meet all regular safety requirements
PWC COURSE TIPS
Meet: at the Tritoon Start Boat, located halfway between start & finish
Call Time: when called you will run to the finish buoys
Idle & 2nd Run: turn right and idle along the green buoy line back to the start for your second run

LAKE OF THE OZARKS SHOOTOUT SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
1. Kill Switch
-
A functioning kill switch with lanyard is required for each motor. The lanyard must be worn at all times while the boat is in operation.
2. Personal Flotation Device (PFD)
-
A Type I USCG-approved PFD is mandatory for all participants.

Race-style life jackets with crotch straps are required for high-speed boats.

Enhanced buoyancy and security
-
Crotch straps ensure proper positioning during impact
3. Helmet
-
All participants must wear a helmet that meets or exceeds DOT standards.
Accepted certifications:

SNELL M2010 or M2015
Helmet Requirements:

Open-face helmets are strongly recommended to reduce the risk of drowning and allow easier emergency access

A majority of the helmet must be orange for maximum visibility and safety
4. Canopy Boats
Boats with canopies must have:

Certified canopy suits with proper buoyancy and safety features
-
A functioning oxygen system with a minimum of 2,000 psi
-
Operators trained on oxygen use and emergency procedures
5. Age Requirement
-
Operators must be 18 years of age or older.
6. Boat Size Requirement
-
Boats must be documented by the manufacturer as 22 feet or greater, excluding motors and appendages.

Measurement: From bilge plug to bow, using a plumb bob
-
Personal Watercraft (PWC) are exempt from this requirement
-
Misclassification may result in penalties or disqualification
7. Occupancy
-
Only the driver may occupy the vessel unless a separate throttle position is equipped.

No passengers under any circumstances.

Disqualification may occur if a passenger is identified in any photo or video, regardless of performance.
8. Radio Requirement
-
All boats must be equipped with a marine band radio for communication.
9. Alcohol Policy
-
A zero-tolerance alcohol policy will be enforced during the event.

Random breathalyzer tests may be administered
-
All participants will be notified of this policy in advance
-
Violations will result in immediate disqualification and potential ban from future events
